Hot Hatha Yoga is a system of yoga synthesized from traditional Hatha yoga techniques. Classes consist of a set series of postures and breathing exercises. The Yoga is ideally practiced in a heated room with a humidity of 40%. The heated studio helps deeper stretching and injury prevention, while reducing stress and tension. This system stimulates and restores health and circulation to every muscle, joint, and organ of the body. The postures are performed in conjunction with Pranayama breathing techniques to enhance oxygen conversion and absorption, as well as improve blood circulation. This demanding series of postures (asanas) and breathing exercises (pranayamas), is suitable for all ages and levels of ability. The method also stimulates the organs, glands and nerves, moving fresh oxygenated blood to 100 percent of the body, restoring all systems to a healthy working order. These 75 and 60 minute programs promote total health through the balancing and strengthening of every system in the body. Yoga participants report better sleep, increased energy levels and muscle tone, relief from muscle pain and stiffness, improved circulation and overall better general health.
Power Flow Vinyasa Yoga is the alignment of movement and breath, a method which turns static yoga postures into a dynamic flow. The length of one inhale or one exhale dictates the length of time spent transitioning between postures. Poses are then held for a predefined number of breaths. In effect, attention is placed on the breath and the journey between the postures rather than solely on achieving perfect body alignment in a pose, as is emphasized in Hot Hatha Yoga. Performed in a slightly heated room, Hot Flow is a vigorous and dynamic class designed to challenge the student while receiving all possible advantages of a yoga practice. Attention will be put on breath awareness and posture positioning to help align the body, even as students move quickly in and out of poses. This is a very challenging yoga class that will result in improved strength, balance, flexibility and detoxification through breath and sweat. It includes various sequences, consisting of different forms of sun salutations, vinyasas, focused abdominal work, inversions and arm balances. All instructors will utilize classic yoga postures in an energetic flow, linking movement with breath, and creating sequences that will improve the mind, body, and spirit. Hot Flow Yoga is suitable for practitioners or all levels and ability.
Power Flow II is a faster paced version of Power Flow Yoga with longer hold times and more challenging expressions of select postures. It is a high energy class designed to strengthen muscles, increase flexibility and develop balance and concentration in experienced practitioners.
Pure Fusion is a blend of Flow Yoga and Hot Hatha bringing the benefits of both forms. It is practiced in a room heated to 100°F and 40% humidity. It is both physically and mentally challenging and is a good transition from the Hot Yoga to the Power Flow series. The sequence of postures focuses on strengthening the cardiovascular system, opening the shoulders, hips and spine as well as strengthening the legs, core and upper body. Additional benefits include weight loss, detoxification and muscle toning. The 60 minute class is conducted at an intermediate level pace with the 75 minute class being more challenging.
